This .40 S&W ammunition from Magtech's Guardian Gold series is designed to provide effective terminal performance in a self-defense emergency. It exhibits the strengths for which the .40 Smith & Wesson is known: flat trajectory, strong penetration, and high diameter mushrooming.

Each cartridge in this box of 20 fires a 155 grain jacketed hollow point bullet at a muzzle velocity of 1,205 feet per second. Compared to other .40 Smith & Wesson loads, this is a relatively light bullet fired at a high velocity. Such an arrangement results in more dependable expansion without increasing felt recoil to unreasonable levels.

Magtech ammo is loaded in Ribeirao Pires, Brazil by CBC, one of the top defense contractors in Latin America. CBC's production facilities make extensive use of automation technology to keep ammo consistent from batch to batch. The company also produces many of its components in-house to ensure better quality control; these include reloadable brass and non-corrosive Boxer primers.
