Three pellets of lead 000 buckshot, propelled to a muzzle velocity of 1,300 fps (out of a shotgun’s longer barrel). The shot column weighs approximately 0.48 ounces, which is quite typical for a 2-1/2” 410 bore shell. Each 0.36” diameter pellet attains a muzzle energy of 263 ft lbs, which would be sufficient for self-defense applications on its own. Multiply that effect by three, however, and you can appreciate why this ammo is effective for more than just coyotes.
