This ammo is reliable and basic. Each cartridge is loaded with a 55 grain bullet, the most common projectile weight for the 223 Rem. The bullet is comprised of a copper alloy jacket and lead core – without any steel that could get it banned from certain ranges. The FMJBT’s base ends in a sloping profile, which enables it to stir up less drag as it flies toward its target. Alongside Federal’s concentric jacket and uniform core, that promotes the flatter trajectory which makes long-distant shooting more manageable. This bullet is also outfitted with a cannelure, which helps prevent it from shifting in its seating inside its brass case.

You may have seen prettier cases, but this ammo is still 100% new production. Federal anneals the brass to make it stronger and more supple, but skips buffing it up to save time and cost. Once these rounds’ non-corrosive Boxer primers have done their job, you can pop them out, reload their cases, and head back out to the range!
