As an XM855, this round’s 62 grain projectile is comprised of a full metal jacket, lead core, and steel penetrator tip as indicated by its green meplat. Its steel component leaves this bullet far able to burrow through hard barriers that might have turned a more conventional bullet aside, including sheet metal. This bullet further sports a boat tail design, so its high ballistic coefficient will give you the flattened trajectory and greater downrange velocity needed for accurate shooting.
