The bullet’s nose cavity only exists because its uniformly concentric copper jacket was created first, and subsequently filled with molten lead to even further enhance its in-flight gyroscopic stability. The OTM’s peak balance, low-drag profile, 168 grain weight and 2,650 fps muzzle velocity all add up to bestow it with a 0.450 G1 ballistic coefficient – the reason why it’ll strike a 600-yard zero without having to rise higher than 36.5” above the barrel line (centered up 1.5”).
