This is authentic 5.7x28mm SS197SR ammunition by FN Herstal. It’s precisely what you want for self-defense with a handgun, varmint hunting with a carbine, or match accuracy with any firearm that can chamber the small yet mighty 5.7x28 cartridge!

FN Herstal doesn’t actually make this round’s 40 grain bullet. That’s the V-MAX by Hornady, with a blue polymer tip instead of the usual red one. Its streamlined tip and match grade AMP jacket give the V-MAX the ballistic efficiency it needs to exhibit a truly flat trajectory. The hollow point nose cavity just beneath the tip and thin copper jacket surround it also equip the V-MAX to let loose explosive fragmentation immediately following initial penetration.

FN’s own Five-seveN handgun will fire this ammo’s accurate and impactful bullets at a muzzle velocity of 2,034 fps, but an AR-57 is only going to provide a faster muzzle velocity and accordingly flatter trajectory. Save those brass cases, because they’re practically begging to be reloaded with new 0.224” bullets once they have been emptied out!
