This round’s 110 grain polymer tipped bullet achieves 2,375 fps muzzle velocity out of a 16” barrel. Its 0.290 G1 ballistic coefficient will keep the bullet’s velocity faster than 1,600 fps until nearly 300 yards.

That’s not an arbitrary number, as 1,600 fps is the lowest velocity at which the V-MAX will exhibit terminal expansion. The bullet’s streamlined polymer tip is positioned in such a way that enables it to ram inward on expansion. This is how the tip builds up energy before finally connecting with the core, at which instant it produces rapid and deadly terminal fragmentation within its target.
