This 5.56x45 cartridge from Hornady’s Frontier line of ammunition is crowned with its manufacturer’s 75 grain BTHP Match projectile. The Match features the AMP jacket, which is carefully created so as to have practically zero runout or variation in thickness. That alongside the Match’s swaged lead core makes this bullet’s rotational stability simply remarkable. The Match’s accuracy further comes from its secant ogive profile and boat tail design, which together thoroughly enhance its ballistic coefficient to grant it a flatter trajectory and increased resistance to wind drift.

Hornady partnered with the Lake City Army Ammunition Plant to create this ammunition. The latter’s impressive output capacity has given this round a very palatable price tag, and their attention to standardization makes each of these 200 rounds’ performance very consistent with one another. You’ll see that this round’s brass casing has been properly annealed to bolster its reloadability, and that its primer is ultra sensitive as well.
