Hornady Match 6.5 Creedmoor Ammunition - 20 Rounds of 140 Grain ELD Match

  • Manufacturer - Hornady
  • Grain Weight - 140 Grain
  • Muzzle Velocity - 2,710 fps
  • Jacket Type - Extremely Low Drag Match (ELD Match)
Hornady utilizes Doppler radar testing to assess their ammo’s ballistic performance. That’s how they discovered the conventional polymer tip’s chief shortcoming: Aerodynamic heating is enough to bake it hotter than 350 °F, at which point it melts and becomes deformed.

This 6.5 Creedmoor cartridge’s ELD Match bullet is Hornady’s solution to that problem. The bullet’s Heat Shield tip is able to withstand being heated to 700 °F, thus assuring it always remains sharp and ballistically efficient.

The ELD Match is much more than its state-of-the-art polymer tip, of course. This round’s 140 grain projectile also owes its 0.646 G1 BC and resultant ability to retain supersonic velocities beyond 1,500 yards to its hyper-concentric AMP jacket, sleek secant ogive jacket profile, low drag boat tail and evenly distributed lead core.

The ELD Match is purely for precision shooting. Its polymer tip does not unleash any significant amount of terminal expansion, which in turn makes it unsuitable for hunting medium game.

Hornady loads their Match series ammo with specially selected brass cases, match grade primers, and carefully measured charges of low-fouling propellant. Every component is loaded in accordance with Hornady’s highest standards for consistency, so you too will be able to live up to the old Nebraskan company’s motto: "Ten bullets through one hole."
