Hornady developed their Precision Hunter line of ammunition for hunters – hunters who love precision. This 6.5 Creedmoor cartridge could easily win you a target shooting competition, but it’s best spent on deer!

The Extremely Low Drag - eXpanding (ELD-X) is an all-range hunting bullet. It features Hornady’s Heat Shield tip, a sleek polymer tip that can’t warp or deform no matter how violently aerodynamic friction heats it. Hornady’s Advanced Manufacturing Process jacket exhibits the concentricity requisite for flawless in-flight stability, as well as a ballistically efficient secant ogive profile that tapers off to a boat tail. When fired from a 24” barrel the 143 grain 0.2644” ELD-X has an amazing 0.625 G1 BC (0.315 G7 BC)!

The ELD-X is a tough bullet, with an InterLock ring that mechanically locks its thick jacket to its lead core. The bullet retains at least half of its weight following impact within 400 yards; beyond that, it retains at least 85 percent of its weight. But under any circumstances, the ELD-X’s Heat Shield tip plows inward during penetration to produce crippling terminal expansion.
