This 22 LR cartridge from the 22 Thunderbolt line of ammunition is packed with features which make its price tag appealing -- without doing away with the great quality for which Remington is renowned. The round sports a 40 grain projectile, its caliber’s original and most common bullet weight. The bullet’s 100 percent lead composition makes it relatively inexpensive to manufacture, but its ability to maintain its momentum and to deform within soft targets makes it practical for virtually any type of shooting. The bullet’s round nose profile also serves to lower its price by a bit, but that shape helps it to penetrate unconventional plinking targets with relative ease.

This round’s non-corrosive rimfire primer and corrosion resistant brass casing means it will be content to sit on a shelf for ages until you’ve found 5,000 things to shoot with it. Its propellant reliably delivers a 1,255 fps muzzle velocity to boot, so you’ll have the laser-like trajectory that you need to reliably peg distant targets.
