This ammo by Winchester is prepper-ready thanks to its military-quality steel ammo can, and you can load a mag in seconds thanks to its stripper clips and included spoon. The M855 load works just fine for shooting targets wherever magnetic ammo is permitted. The bullet’s not magnetic because it has a budget-friendly bimetal jacket, though. The “penetrator” bullet’s copper jacket covers a partial steel core, which it can use to puncture sheet metal with ease. Under optimal conditions an M855 bullet can defeat a 1/8” sheet of steel 650 yards away!

This ammo isn’t military surplus, but it does have military-grade brass cases. They’ll work great in your rifle, and they’re even annealed to keep them suppler and more durable after several reloads. Winchester saves a step by not buffing up the cases after they have been heat-treated, so they’re not exactly beautiful.
