“The penetrator.” It sounds like a really bad name for a superhero, but it’s actually a useful bullet for target shooting and self-defense. This M855 cartridge from Wolf’s Gold line of ammunition will make a good companion to any AR-15 chambered for 5.56x45!

Why does the penetrator penetrate so well? This round’s 62 grain FMJ bullet has a green painted tip because beneath its jacket sits a partial steel core. That gives the bullet far greater strength than if its core had been made of solid lead, so it’s able to punch through sheet metal and other tough barriers at close to medium range.

This cartridge’s magnetic bullet is seated in a brand new brass case. It you’ve got a keen eye then you’ve noticed that the cases lose their golden color around their necks. They are not reloaded – they are heat-treated for added strength, and Wolf speeds up production by not bothering to polish the cases. This ammo was made in Taiwan specifically for the civilian market and has non-corrosive primers and fresh, clean-burning propellant.
