The Lake City Army Ammunition Plant in Independence, Missouri produces most of the ammunition used by the US military. Excess production from this facility is sometimes available to the general public under the brand name of the plant's operator, Federal Premium Ammunition. These 5.56 NATO cartridges follow the M855 specification and fire a 62 grain full metal jacket bullet at 3,020 feet per second. The bullet has a distinctive green painted tip, as is typical of M855 loads. Ammo made at LCAAP can be used with other M855-spec cartridges without adjustments to your rifle's optics.

Lake City ammunition uses non-corrosive primers and brass cases with visible annealing marks to indicate that each round has been constructed properly. This particular case comes in a lot of 2,000 rounds loose in the box, ideal for high volume shooters.
