Looking for mil-spec ammo to feed your AR-15? You can't go wrong with 5.56 NATO rounds from the Lake City Army Ammunition Plant. This ammo is made by Federal and sold as excess production to the public. These cartridges follow the M855 specification currently in use by the US military. This ammo comes packaged in a lot of 600 consisting of five small plastic ammo cans containing 120 rounds each.

These cartridges fire a "green tip" 62 grain full metal jacket bullet at 3,104 feet per second. The bullet has a boat tail for enhanced medium range stability, an important benefit due to the relatively low weight of 5.56 NATO projectiles compared to those of other calibers.

This ammo uses non-corrosive Boxer primers and brass cases with visible annealing marks in accordance with military standards. These marks serve to show that the case has been constructed properly.
