This is not 5.56x45 M855 ammunition. It’s 223 Rem ammunition, although it is just like M855 because it is loaded with 62 grain full metal jacket bullets that achieve 3,100 fps muzzle velocity in conjunction with a 24” barrel. Since Hornady’s FMJ bullets do not contain steel, they cannot attract a magnet. That means you can enjoy nearly identical performance to M855 at ranges which have a hangup over magnetic ammo!

This round’s bullet has a 0.274 G1 ballistic coefficient. If your sights are 1.5” and you’re aiming to 300 yards, your trajectory will peak out at around 5.3” at 170 yards, and then drop -12.7” at 400 yards. These are just estimations of course. Real world results invariably vary, yet you can always expect consistent performance from Hornady’s high-quality American-made ammo.
