The 50 BMG is available in a wide range of flavors. Light blue means it’s the M1 incendiary; purple is the M17 tracer; black is M2 armor piercing; and red and silver is M20, which is both armor piercing and incendiary – very useful for squirrel hunting. But when the 50 BMG’s bullet hasn’t been painted, that means it’s the good old M33 ball that you want for regular target practice and not lighting things on fire from a mile away.

This cartridge is made by the Lake City Army Ammunition plant and has a big 660 grain FMJ projectile. It’ll fly flat and hit hard, as the 50 BMG is known to do, but just be aware that the M33’s core is made of soft steel. We doubt you would have taken this ammo to an indoor shooting range anyway, but some people get a bug in their craw over magnetic bullets.

Lake City is a military ammo manufacturer, which means they don’t polish their new brass cases after annealing their necks and shoulders for greater durability. Soldiers don’t care about the cosmetics, and neither will you as you’re firing these big ball cartridges at the range! Non-corrosive primers, of course, because you wouldn’t want rust inside a Barrett M82, which ain’t a cheap rifle.

This is loose-packed ammo.
