The full metal jacket boat tail features a solid copper alloy jacket that can’t attract a magnet, uniformly distributed lead core for rotational stability, mid-body cannelure to prevent bullet setback, streamlined nose profile for accuracy, and of course a boat tail to ensure a flatter trajectory. One thing the FMJBT hasn’t got is a soft point or polymer tip. Without either of these features, it’s just not going to deliver the terminal performance you would want during a home defense scenario.
