People often ask us if they can use X, Y or Z 30-06 Springfield ammunition in their M1 Garand rifles. In all honesty, there are some types of modern commercial ammo which aren’t loaded to a high enough pressure to damage an M1 Garand’s operating rod. Each cartridge is loaded with a 150 grain nonmagnetic full metal jacket projectile that achieves a muzzle velocity of 2,745 fps. Each cartridge is also loaded with a noncorrosive Boxer primer and new brass case – the reason for its readability.
