This cartridge is loaded with a jacketed hollow point. The jacket doesn’t extend all the way to the bullet’s tip. Alongside the JHP’s flat nose profile, that ensures no nasty surprises if you accidentally drop or jostle your lever-action rifle. The flat nose projectile exhibits commanding energy transfer on contact, deep penetration courtesy of its strong copper jacket, and effective terminal expansion thanks to its alloyed lead core’s hollow point nose cavity.

This round’s flat base bullet is lightweight at 300 grains. Its muzzle velocity is also relatively mild at 1,880 fps, so you shouldn’t feel too strong a kick. The 0.288 G1 BC bullet ought to stay supersonic until it reaches approximately 265 yards. Winchester’s Boxer-primed brass cases are reloadable – don’t leave them behind!
