This cartridge’s bullet is a real lightweight at 27 grains, and will achieve a muzzle velocity of 1,890 fps when fired from a Five-seveN’s 4.8″ barrel (a PS90’s 10.4” barrel would accelerate the round’s muzzle velocity to 2,132 fps). The jacketed hollow point’s low mass is the result of its nontoxic aluminum core. That suits the JHP for hunting varmints wherever lead bullets aren’t allowed, and it also means you won’t have to inhale lead vapor while you’re training at a fuggy indoor range. Despite its unconventional core, the JHP still exhibits terminal expansion after it has sunk into a fleshy target.
