7.62x51 ammunition isn’t just the right choice for 7.62x51 rifles. Because the commercial 308 Win round is nearly identical to the military’s 7.62x51, this ammo makes just as good an investment for target shooting with a 308 hunting rifle or AR-10!

This cartridge has the simplest kind of bullet you’re going to find for a semi-automatic. The 147 grain FMJ is 100 percent steel-free, so it is nonmagnetic and will comply with any range’s rules. Magtech’s FMJ has the hard gilding metal jacket and streamlined profile you want for smooth feeding and reliable accuracy, but this kind of bullet is not suitable for hunting and will not expand to more effectively neutralize a threat.

This bullet’s 2,740 fps muzzle velocity (from a 22” barrel) conveys a 0.398 ballistic coefficient, which is enough to keep its flight supersonic up until around 950 yards.

Magtech’s nonmagnetic bullet is right at home in its factory fresh brass case. Expect clockwork feeding and extraction, as well as the opportunity to reload once you’ve plucked out these cases’ noncorrosive Boxer primers.
