We can’t lie. We wish that all ammunition was packaged like this 40 S&W by PMC. The sealed plastic battle packs lock out moisture that doesn’t do brass and propellant any favors, so you can rest assured your investment will stay safe and sound.

Cut open that packaging to find six 50-round boxes of high-quality range loads. Each cartridge is armed with the 40 S&W’s lighter 165 grain projectile. As a full metal jacket, the bullet lacks any features which enable it to widen out and gouge a more debilitating wound channel in soft tissue.

But the FMJ has got a flat point nose profile. In addition to dealing slightly greater damage to soft tissue, the bullet’s broad, circular meplat does a fine job punching a clean hole through a hanging sheet of paper. That makes it easier to judge how well you’re placing your shots!

PMC is the manufacturer responsible for making the South Korean military’s ammunition. (To be sure, this is new production ammo, not military surplus.) As a subsidiary of the Poongsan Corporation, PMC has all the tech they need to turn high-grade materials into reloadable brass cases, non-corrosive Boxer primers and clean-burning powder. This ammo’s steel-free bullets cannot attract a magnet.
