Sellier & Bellot’s basic range load sports a 147 grain full metal jacket projectile (just like the Armed Forces’ 7.62x51 M80 round). Its 2,776 fps muzzle velocity and 0.391 ballistic coefficient (out of a 23.5” barrel) convey a flat trajectory coupled with supersonic performance until nearly 950 yards. The FMJ design promotes smooth feeding out of a magazine as well as a cleaner barrel, although its inability to expand makes it poorly equipped for deer hunting.

Sellier & Bellot’s 7.62x51 ammunition is made in the Czech Republic without any steel. This round’s nonmagnetic bullet won’t run afoul of certain ranges’ ammo policies, and its reloadable brass case will seal the chamber to ensure cleaner, more efficient ignition. This ammo’s non-corrosive Boxer primers are sealed for greater longevity in storage.
