Tula Cartridge Works is one of the world’s largest producers of small arms ammunition, and traces its roots all the way back to 1880 when Emperor Alexander II ordered its foundation. They produced over 25 percent of the ammunition used by Russia during the First World War, and they contributed their fair share of lead to the Red Army’s efforts on the Eastern Front as well. (Relatively speaking, they may have considered it to be the Western Front.) Today Tula’s products are known the world over for their great reliability and affordability.

This 45 ACP cartridge features Russia’s distinctive steel casing. It may not be suitable for handloading, but steel’s lesser price than that of brass is nicely reflected in this round’s price tag. Its low price isn’t the only reason that this is a great round for lengthy range sessions -- its 230 grain projectile’s full metal jacket prevents the rapid accumulation of lead residue in a pistol’s bore, preserving its accuracy and lengthening the amount of time you can fire in between cleanings.
