Here’s some attractively priced 44 Magnum ammunition from the heart of Idaho! Blazer didn’t make this range and self-defense ammo cheaper by omitting their usual commitment to excellent quality, however. The magic is in its heat-treated aircraft-grade aluminum cases.

Aluminum is far more economical to produce than brass thanks to its lack of semi-precious copper. However, an aluminum case’s rigidity means that it is not reloadable once it is fired. Blazer outfits this ammo’s cases with Berdan primer pockets (which have two flash holes, and are therefore incompatible with conventional Boxer-style component primers) to discourage people from attempting to handload them.

This ammo’s bullets are nonmagnetic, and do not contain aluminum either. The jacketed hollow point’s partial gilding metal jacket enables its lead core’s nose cavity to undergo more reliable terminal expansion at lower velocities. The jacket also keeps the bullet intact enough to achieve effectively deep penetration. This round’s 1,200 fps muzzle velocity was recorded with a 6.5” vented barrel, so you can expect slightly gentler recoil (relatively speaking, of course – this is still 44 Mag we’re talking about).
