Check out this round’s 158 grain bullet. It is a semi-jacketed soft point with a flat nose profile, which means it is (A) tough enough to effectively penetrate a soft medium, (B) capable of undergoing highly detrimental terminal expansion, and (C) safe for storage in a tubular magazine. It’ll punch a pretty clean hole through a paper target to facilitate scoring as well!

Sellier & Bellot used a conventional length 6” test barrel to record this round’s 1,263 fps muzzle velocity. It’ll strike with over 500 ft lbs of kinetic energy at 25 yards, which is way more than the minimum usually recommended for personal protection. Perfect for coyote, and not remotely incapable of anchoring a buck (with the obvious warning that shot placement counts for a whole lot when you’re gunning for whitetail with a 357).
