It isn’t a soft point. It’s the InterLock – Hornady’s state-of-the-art soft point style projectile, which combines its streamlined profile, ability to penetrate deeply, and propensity for wide terminal expansion to ensure that you emerge from the woods victorious!

This American Whitetail series cartridge features a 140 grain InterLock. Its flat base and low-drag secant ogive profile both contribute toward the InterLock’s rather impressive 0.486 G1 ballistic coefficient. You can expect -6.9” drop at 300 yards (200-yard zero) and over 1,500 ft lbs of energy transfer at 400 yards. The InterLock’s jacket is embedded into its alloyed lead core in two separate places, which assures the bullet withstands high-velocity impact without shedding too much weight in the process. As the InterLock tunnels deeply through its target, its lead tip and tapered jacket work in tandem to produce a truly deadly mushroom. Hogs, whitetail and even elk are no match for a well-placed InterLock!

This ammo’s primers and powder are carefully matched to ensure a steady 2,940 fps muzzle velocity out of a 24” barrel. Hornady simply doesn’t make a brass case that isn’t worth a handloader’s time and energy.
