This round is adorned with a 140 grain InterLock. It’s a soft point with a low-drag secant ogive profile, which enables it to carry over 1,000 ft lbs of striking energy to any target within 650 yards (Hornady recorded its muzzle velocity with a 24” test barrel). The InterLock is built for deep penetration, as its cannelure and InterLock ring doubly embed its copper jacket within the surface of its dense, one-piece lead core. The InterLock’s jacket is both tapered and strategically grooved – both features that enable its lead tip to expand fast and wide after striking an ungulate.
