This round’s truncated cone soft point bullet is unusual, but it is extremely useful. Its “truncated cone” profile features straight, sloping sides that terminate in a flat nose profile. Its shape enables the bullet to feed efficiently into all types of firearms’ chambers – including lever-actions and semi-autos – and it is also ballistically efficient to benefit accuracy. Although it lacks a true nose cavity, the soft point bullet’s unjacketed tip does permit significant terminal expansion. The bullet will widen out to maximize trauma to soft tissue, which is made only more effective by the 44 Mag’s innate power.
