This is full-power, police grade and Minnesota-made 10mm ammunition. It is optimal for personal protection, although any wild boar which takes one is not going to think too fondly of the experience.

Federal Premium designed their HST bullet (an acronym which doesn’t actually mean anything) to fully satisfy the FBI’s test protocol for self-defense ammo. The 200 grain jacketed hollow point expands reliably even after passing through obstinate barriers including multiple layers of clothing, gypsum board and vehicle doors. The HST JHP’s reliable expansion reduces the risk of danger for bystanders which may be positioned behind the threat, just like it increases the amount of energy the bullet can transfer to its target.

In addition to keeping its nose cavity free of debris, the HST JHP is designed to feed with the utmost reliability. Its brass case’s nickel plating serves a variety of purposes: greater lubricity that facilitates feeding and extraction, greater visibility that facilitates a chamber check in suboptimal lighting, and greater resistance to corrosion.
