Military-quality 7.62x51 ammunition is tremendously versatile, and a must-have whether you want to tighten up your control over your AR-10 or LR-308 (i.e. “the redneck SCAR”) or get a little target practice in with your 308 deer slammer. The military’s M80 bullet doesn’t expand, which isn’t to suggest a 147 grain bullet hitting a threat at double the speed of sound is going to do anything other than neutralize it.

This cartridge is made by Magtech, a Brazilian manufacturer and asset of the massive CBC Group. Its bullet, a simple enough FMJ, is sleek enough to achieve a ballistic coefficient of 0.398 (out of a 22” barrel). This is sufficient to keep it supersonic until 947 yards. The bullet is also nonmagnetic, so you have free license to fire it at any range.

Magtech loads their M80 ammunition with new production brass cases. Their consistent dimensions promise smooth functionality in any type of rifle, be it semi-auto or bolt, and once you’ve removed their primers (large rifle 9-1/2) they become great reloading components.
