If you want .30 cal ammunition that won both World Wars, then you want 30-06 Springfield. But if you want .30 cal ammo that didn’t make its debut until the sequel, you want 30 Carbine!

This is Remington’s UMC line of 30 Carbine ammunition, and it is perfect for M1 carbines whether they’re the real deal or reproductions. The M1 ball spec cartridge is loaded with a round nose full metal jacket projectile; Remington recorded its 1,990 fps muzzle velocity with a 18” barrel. This is a ball round, so its bullet is not going to deliver good terminal ballistics for hunting. But it is a properly made FMJ, with a lead core and gilding metal jacket that are both incapable of attracting a magnet.

Remington loads their UMC series cartridges in Lonoke, AR. That’s where these rounds got their reliable Kleanbore primers, which spark up clean and without producing corrosive residue. If you’re also interested in reloading your own 30 Carbine, then this ammo’s brass cases will give you an excellent path forward.
